Our new summer sermon series starts this week: Summer in the Psalms. The Old Testament book of Psalms is a treasure trove of human emotions and experiences. From the highest joys of intimate communion with God, to the depression and despair of feeling abandoned by Him, to the soul-crushing pain of regret over sin, to the boiling fury caused by the betrayal of close friends, to the deep gratitude for the wondrous world in which we live, the full range of human experiences and emotions are on display in this precious set of 150 poems. Join us this summer in worship as we delve into the prayerbook and songbook of the Bible, the Psalms. On Sunday, June 25th we learn that the pursuit of joy in God is carried out over a lifetime, with many challenges. Sin tempts, trials and tragedies assail. In daily life, we worship. In difficult times, we must remind ourselves of the steadfast love of God, and the sure hope of salvation.
