Our summer sermon series “Summer in the Psalms” continues this week. The Old Testament book of Psalms is a treasure trove of human emotions and experiences. From the highest joys of intimate communion with God, to the depression and despair of feeling abandoned by Him, to the soul-crushing pain of regret over sin, to the boiling fury caused by the betrayal of close friends, to the deep gratitude for the wondrous world in which we live, the full range of human experiences and emotions are on display in this precious set of 150 poems. Join us this summer in worship as we delve into the prayerbook and songbook of the Bible, the Psalms. On Sunday, July 2 we learn that human conflict and relational friction are part of life. We should not minimize the real pain of relationships that break down, but we also do not put our hope in getting along with everyone. Instead of fearing man, we trust God, toughen up and practice the virtue of gratitude.
