In the four Biblical Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John), a full third of the material focuses exclusively on Jesus’ final week. As we build towards our annual celebration of the greatest day ever – Resurrection Sunday – we will look at the end of Jesus’ life in Matthew’s Gospel. This end is actually the beginning – of King Jesus’ reign, of life eternal, of the church, and of the mission of every Christian. On Sunday, April 16th we learn that, Jesus fulfills the OT threefold office of prophet, priest and king. He then empowers his followers to fulfill the same roles as his ambassadors in the world.
