Acts 9:19b-31
Fear, Comfort, and Growth

Saul goes from hater to preacher, using His gifts immediately, though there is great opposition. He ministers in Damascus and Jerusalem, and the church grows as it walks in fear of the Lord and comfort of the Spirit.

The book of Acts derives its name from the “Acts of the Apostles,” but what we will see together is that the catalyst behind the church’s explosive growth was not human courage or strategy, but the power of God’s Word and Spirit – from Jerusalem, across the Roman world, and to the ends of the earth. That story continues to this day. From the first to the twenty-first century, the Word is advancing outward by the power of the Holy Spirit – transforming hearts, homes and cultures in our own day. We are not merely studying history – we are also participating in the ongoing mission of God to save and sanctify for Himself a people that bear His Spirit and share His Word.
