The End and Beginning in Matthew: Humble and Mounted on a Donkey
Jesus is a different kind of king - he fulfills prophesies of old about the coming Savior, yet he rides humbly on a donkey. This is symbolic of the very task he came to accomplish - to rescue his subjects from sin by laying down his life for them.
